Advanced Manufacturing Momentum Builds- Smart Factory Academy Launched in Benguerir
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) officially launched the Smart Factory Academy, a landmark Industry 4.0 training and innovation hub. The academy will serve as a testbed for automation, robotics and digital manufacturing, equipping Moroccan engineers and technicians with the skills to compete in high-tech production sectors across Africa. - Safran Expands Aerospace Engine Production Near Casablanca
French aerospace leader Safran announced a new engine assembly and maintenance facility in Nouaceur, expanding Morocco’s position within global aviation supply chains. The site will produce and service advanced propulsion systems for international aircraft programmes, building on the success of the existing Midparc aerospace cluster, which now houses over 140 firms. - Tata Advanced Systems Launches Defence Manufacturing Facility
India’s Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) inaugurated its first overseas production site in Berrechid to manufacture 8×8 armoured vehicles in partnership with Moroccan defence authorities. The facility will boost local industrial capability, promote technology transfer and create high-value manufacturing jobs aligned with Morocco’s Defence Industrial Strategy. - Automotive Exports Continue to Drive Industrial Growth
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Morocco’s automotive exports exceeded MAD130Bn in the first three quarters of 2025, driven by global demand for electric vehicles and battery systems. Stellantis and Renault are both expanding production of next-generation EV models, reinforcing Morocco’s lead as Africa’s largest automotive exporter. - First National Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Expo Debuts in Casablanca
The launch of Morocco’s first dedicated hybrid and electric vehicle Auto Expo brought together over 30 international brands and highlighted new charging and battery infrastructure projects. The event underscored Morocco’s national goal of producing 1 million EVs annually by 2030 and attracting further investment into sustainable transport manufacturing.
- Tangier Tech City Progresses to Second Development Phase
Construction at Cité Mohammed VI Tanger Tech entered its second phase, focusing on logistics, mobility technology and high-value manufacturing. The project aims to attract over $2Bn in investment and create more than 100,000 skilled jobs over the next decade, positioning Tangier as North Africa’s smart industrial capital. - ONCF Advances Rail Modernisation and Green Mobility Projects
The National Office for Railways (ONCF) announced the completion of digital control systems upgrades on key national routes and progress on Morocco’s high-speed train expansion between Kenitra and Marrakech. The agency is also exploring hydrogen-powered locomotives and AI-based maintenance systems to enhance operational sustainability. - Casablanca to Pilot Urban Smart Mobility Network in 2026
Casablanca authorities confirmed the launch of a city-wide Smart Mobility Plan integrating real-time transport data, AI-powered traffic management and expanded EV charging stations. The initiative is part of Morocco’s broader National Strategy for Sustainable Urban Mobility (2024 – 2035), targeting carbon-neutral transport infrastructure.
