EGYPTIAN COMPANIES TO LAUNCH NEW FACTORIES IN MOROCCO TO BOOST REGIONAL INVESTMENT

Around 30 Egyptian companies are planning to set up factories in Morocco over the next three years, as part of a broader strategy to expand Egypt’s investment footprint across North Africa.
This initiative aims to leverage Morocco’s strategic geographic position near Europe and its network of free trade agreements, which provide access to both Western and African markets.
According to Nizar Abu Ismail, Chairman of the Egyptian-Moroccan Business Council, the companies interested represent a wide range of industries, including food production, manufacturing, nutritional supplements, auto spare parts, and marine fishing and vessel construction.
Abu Ismail also mentioned that some of the firms are considering joint ventures with Moroccan partners to reduce initial costs and accelerate the launch of operations.
In a public statement, he noted that trade relations between Egypt and Morocco are currently stronger than they have been in years. He emphasized that all previous trade barriers have been removed, thanks to a shared commitment to improving bilateral trade.
Additionally, an expanded Egyptian trade mission is scheduled to visit Morocco in September, bringing together a wide array of companies from different sectors to explore new opportunities for collaboration and investment.
